Oh, Berlin, I'll Miss you - Why Delilah Blog

It was definitely not my original plan, but somehow our Berlin adventures were dragged into the new (jewish) year. Meanwhile I missed some very important fashion weeks, turned 25, and lately the blog joined me to celebrate its very exciting first year.

I’ll make an effort to tell you all about these landmarks soon, but now it’s time for the third and last Berlin post which is about my two personal favorites in life: Shopping and snacking.

In our search for the next great meal we noticed most restaurants had a very similar menu. It includes all options from a burger to pizza and sushi, and although there’s no specific specialty, most times the food is pretty good or at least decent, so it’s really easy to find your next meal, even for a picky gal like myself. I was also pleasantly surprised to discover many great vegan restaurants. Although I’m not vegan for now anyways, it was very refreshing to see.

When it was finally evening, the only thing on our mind was a relaxed dinner and a good night sleep, so we decided to look for places who play live music and discovered there were quite a few.

גררתי את סיפורי ברלין עמוק אל תוך השנה החדשה למרות שבתכנון המקורי הייתי חרוצה הרבה יותר ובדמיוני כבר סיימתי לספר על מעללינו פחות או יותר לפני שבועיים. בינתיים חלפו להם כמה שבועות אופנה, חגגתי 25, ולפני מספר רגעים גם הבלוג הצטרף אליי וחגג יום הולדת ראשון ומרגש.

ציוני דרך בצד (אשתדל לחזור אליהם ממש בקרוב), הגיע הזמן לספר על שניים מהחשובים שבתחביביי- שופינג ונשנושים. שניהם באו היטב לידי ביטוי כבכל גיחה חו”לית שלנו.

בחיפושנו אחר הארוחה הבאה עלה מוטיב חוזר. רבות מהמסעדות בהן נתקלנו מציעות תפריט דומה עד זהה שכולל פחות או יותר הכל מהמבורגר ועד פיצה וסושי. אינן מתמקצעות באף אחד מהמטבחים אבל שומרות על רמה טובה יחסית.

בגדול כברוב הערים הגדולות, קל למצוא מה לאכול בברלין והאפשרויות בלתי מוגבלות.

פלוס גדול נוסף- מסעדות טבעוניות רבות בעיר. אני לא טבעונית אבל לפעמים “משתעשעת” ברעיון והופתעתי לטובה מכמות האופציות.

למרות שהבטחנו לעצמנו שהפעם זה לא יקרה, כשהגיע לילה רצינו בעיקר לנוח. יחד עם סצנת הטכנו הערנית בעיר, השתכנענו די בקלות לוותר על מסיבות ואת שעות הערב בילינו לרוב במסעדות טובות ומצוד אחר מקומות טובים שמנגנים מוזיקה חיה (ישנם לא מעט כאלה).

Well, I kept the best for last and did most of my shopping on the last couple of days. That being said, I did manage to squeeze a visit to the Mauerpark market at the beginning of our trip. The market is only open on sundays and is usually busy and filled with tourists.

I usually love doing my shopping at the comfort of my own home so it wasn’t my type of experience, but I can imagine how many others will appreciate it much more.

We kept the rest of our shopping mostly around the Alexanderplatz plaza and the Alexa mall, and there are few extra areas that were left behind due to time limits.

We spent plenty of time at Primark and C&A at the plaza. Both great Branches, and in hindsight we should’ve started at C&A or at least keep our shopping at Primark to morning hours, when I guess it would be less crowded.

You should also check out the Ann Cristine store and the great New yorker branch.

At the Alexa mall you’ll find Zara, Mango etc, and if you don’t have much time to do your dream shopping during your trip, I’d highly recommend it.

Also, keep your eyes on the lookout for a Gina Tricot branch. It’s not at the Alexanderplatz plaza but worth your visit. I was there for a good hour and a half and had some great finds.

השארתי את הטוב לסוף ואת עיקר השופינג בטיול עשינו ביומיים האחרונים. עם זאת, ביום הראשון לטיול עשינו סיבוב בשוק של מאואר פארק (Mauerpark). השוק פתוח בימי א’ בלבד וקיבלנו עליו לא מעט המלצות. הייתי ממליצה לכם לקפוץ גם אם אתם טיפוסים של שווקים, אבל קחו בחשבון שדי עמוס ומתויר. אני פחות התחברתי, אבל אני בדרך כלל מעדיפה את הקניות שלי במרחבים ממוזגים או במרחק לחיצת עכבר, אז ממני תראו ואל תעשו.

את שאר הקניות ריכזנו בעיקר באזור אלכסנדרפלאץ ובקניון אלכסה, וישנם מספר אזורים נוספים עליהם דילגנו. אם היה לנו יותר זמן כנראה שהייתי מבקרת גם בהם, אבל כמו תמיד, נאלצתי למצוא את דרך המלך שבין רצוני לקנות את כל העולם כולו אל בין חיבתי לטיולים אורבניים.

כילינו לא מעט מזמננו בסניפים של C&A ו-Primark באלכסנדרפלאץ. נכנסנו קודם כל לפריימארק ובדיעבד הייתי מתחילה ב- C&A או לפחות מגיעה לפריימרק קרוב לשעת הפתיחה במהלך הבוקר ועושה נסיון להימנע מהעומס הנוראי.

כדאי לבחון מקרוב גם את הסניף של Ann Christine ואת הסניף הלא קטן של New Yorker שנמצא פחות או יותר ממול עם קצת הליכה.

בקניון אלכסה נמצאות רוב הרשתות בהן אני קונה בדרך כלל בארץ דוגמת זארה, מנגו וחברותיהן ואם אין לכם זמן (כמוני) לגלוש עם השופינג למחוזות מקוריים יותר במהלך הטיול הוא בהחלט שווה קפיצה. למעשה הוא שווה קפיצה בכל אופן.

חפשו גם את Gina Tricot אם יוצא. נתקלתי בחנות בשיטוט אקראי (לא באלכסנדרפלאץ) וביליתי שם שעה טובה.

זו הייתה ברלין על שתי רגליים, היה כיף איתכם!
