Photo Diary: Our Budapest Mini-Moon, Yay!

Photo Diary: Our Budapest Mini-Moon, Yay!

I can’t actually believe I’m writing this, but our wedding is already behind us, it has now been over a month since that joyful day, Max is now my hubby which makes me the luckiest of girls, and I can’t wait to tell you all about our special day, photos and all. It’s only been a short amount of time but a lot has happened since, including a brand new first nephew! (Yep, I’m officially an auntie!)

After all the fuss and adrenaline we sure could use some alone time together. Since it’s going to be a while until we have the time to take a long, crazy honeymoon, we figured a mini-moon would be just perfect and will help us return to sanity and serenity. We were looking for a relatively low cost vacation with a cool city life experience, and that’s how our Budapest trip came to plan. We had full eight days in the city and loved every minute of it!
Budapest has such a great, young vibe to it, not to mention I finally had time to shop so yay me, I was so freakin’ excited for that reason alone.

I’ll leave you to my photo diary so you can see for yourselves all the great reasons to put time out of your schedule and book a flight to Budapest ASAP! Watch for my photo captions to learn a bit more on where we actually visited, these are all super recommended places/ attractions.

Kisses! hope you guys will love it and please share your thoughts!

I was so into winter shopping that I literally traveled with an empty bag. Total look by Zara Budapest.

Morning coffee on our apartment balcony. Plus- check out the view from the roof of St. István‘s Basilica.
You can book our place for yourselves here.

The view from above.
Another good idea while in the city, especially on the first day or two- take at least one of those free walking tours. We had such a fun time walking with a guide for a few hours learning all about the city’s history and hungarian history in general. We took the original city tour and later another tour focusing on the jewish district, both tours were incredibly interesting and thought provoking. It also helped us mark a few places we wanted to come back to and learn more about.

Be sure to visit the parlament while in Budapest and if you’ve got the time don’t miss the tour inside. It’s short but lovely and the building itself is strikingly beautiful.

Be sure to also walk the Buda side of the city. We visited the St. Matthias church which was really amazing and took a short walk at the Fisherman’s Bastion. It’s extremely touristic but a truly lovely way to spend your afternoon.
