Life can be so busy at times, we don’t always find the time to catch a break and give ourselves the royal treatment we truly deserve. I often treat myself with shopping, sushi, or just a great nap every now and then, but most times all of those treats get mixed up in my daily routine and there are few moments in life when I feel truly spoiled. most of those moments have something to do with food. Go figure.
This brass bracelet by Penumbra jewelry was one of the greatest treats I granted myself lately. It caught my eye when Amit Tourgeman, the super talented designer behind the brand, first released his Human Bridges collection, and I waited a long time until I got the chance to visit his studio and take home this beauty. When I finally did, I spent the rest of that day grinning and smiling from ear to ear. Who cares about keeping cool, I have my bracelet!
On the Penumbra blog (in hebrew) and facebook page, Amit explains quite a bit about the inspirations behind his collections and talks about the guidelines of his brand. He talks about his own personal process and soul searching, and what’s exciting is that in view of his work, you can actually see those things come to life. In my eyes the true magic of Amit’s creations lies in their imperfection. No two pieces are identical, they’re always “rough around the edges” and have a strong, fresh point of view that isn’t quite like anything i’ve seen before.
As someone who’s always looking for the next best thing, I’m completely smitten with the Penumbra brand which manages to be as current as it gets, all the while making the most exquisite, timeless jewels.

ברעש הקבוע של החיים, לא תמיד אנחנו מוצאים זמן סתם לפרגן לעצמנו. אני מפרגנת לעצמי בשופינג, סושי, או סתם שינה טובה מדי פעם (על מי אני עובדת, שינה טובה כל יום), אבל לרוב כל זה נבלע בתוך שגרת היום ובמעט מאוד רגעים אני מרגישה באמת מפונקת, רובם קשורים באוכל, לך תבין.
הצמיד הזה של פנומברה עליו קשקשתי רבות, היה אחד הפינוקים הגדולים שפרגנתי לעצמי לאחרונה. לטשתי בו עיניים מהרגע שעמית תורג’מן המעצב הסופר מוכשר שמאחורי המותג הוציא לאוויר את קולקציית Human Bridges שלו, ורק חיכיתי שיצא לי רגע לקפוץ לסטודיו ולקחת את הבייבי הזה הביתה. כשסופסוף היה הרכש בידי, כל אותו יום המשיך במן חיוך מבסוט ודבילי ובלי פאסון בכלל, אבל מי צריך פאסון- יש לי צמיד!
בבלוג המותג ובעמוד הפייסבוק עמית מספר לא מעט על ההשראות שמאחורי הקולקציות שלו ובכלל על הקו המנחה של פנומברה (ספקטרום של צללים בין הבהיר ביותר לצל מלא) ובמבט על היצירה שלו אפשר ממש לראות את כל אלו, זה כנראה מה שמרגש בה יותר מכל.
הקסם שגרם לי להתאהב סופית היה האפקט הלא מושלם בתכשיטים של פנומברה. אף אחד מהם לא זהה לחברו או לשום דבר שראיתי קודם בעצם, הם אף פעם לא ממש “מלוטשים בפינות”, בכולם יש אישיות חזקה ונקודת מבט פרשית ועם זאת מדובר בתכשיטים שיהיו רלוונטיים גם פחות או יותר עוד נצח, וזה בעיני הפינוק האולטימטיבי בתור מי שכל הזמן מחפשת את הדבר הנהדר הבא.
